Winter Months For A Commercial Paving Contractor

The snow is blowing and the ground is frozen and you have a hole in your commercial property’s blacktop. Perhaps you have crumbling concrete that is posing a safety risk, but you don’t think that anything can be done till spring or summer. The truth is that many kinds of asphalt and concrete repairs can be performed in the winter months of the upper Midwest.

It is true that some asphalt and concrete repairs aren’t able to be done with winter weather and temps, but some of them can with a little extra work on the part of the commercial paving contractor. Don’t hesitate to call up a commercial paving contractor in the winter months when an issue arises. Only they will be able to tell you what can and cannot be done. Don’t assume something will have to wait just because the snow is either flying or piled up in your commercial parking lot or on your sidewalks and entryways.

At the very least, you can get the asphalt or concrete repairs scheduled for a time that the weather is more cooperative. However, in the best case, that safety hazard to people or vehicles can be remedied without the wait. There are a lot of variables that have to be taken into account, not least of which is the temperature. Extreme cold and excess moisture can render many asphalt and concrete repairs pointless if not outright impossible, but depending on your specific situation, some things can be done to completion or at least as a stop gap measure.

Don’t wait, consult with a contractor as soon as possible to figure out what, if anything, can be done to remedy the situation. Having a consultation done early, even if you find out that it’ll have to wait, is better than letting the problem grow even bigger over the remaining winter months.

  • I didn’t realize that you could still need help with paving even in the winter! It makes sense that the expanding ice could cause cracks to happen. Repair for asphalt is the kind of thing that you don’t want to put off.
