ACS Asphalt: Stamped Concrete
Stamped concrete is a form of decorative concrete that a commercial paving contractor can install which can lend an air of class and decor to an area that would otherwise look more industrious. The idea behind it is to utilize the strength and durability of concrete, but to offer more decorative options than what have been historically available. Add on the option to also color the concrete in shades other than gray and you have an opportunity to create a truly unique aesthetic for your commercial property.
Stamped concrete is easily applied by an experienced commercial paving contractor by pouring the concrete as usual and then applying what is basically a big stamp or cookie cutter to the surface to create a design. This design can be almost anything, but the most common is a faux brick pattern or a natural rock texture. It is most commonly utilized with colored concrete that adds to realism of the design.
Any concrete company in Minnesota should theoretically be able to handle stamped concrete, though you may want to ask for examples of their work just to make sure they can produce the results that you desire. This is especially true when it comes to concrete repair in regards to decorative concrete. Matching the original color and texture or pattern is far more complicated than concrete replacement as a whole. In some cases, your commercial paving contractor may recommend that a whole area be replaced even though only a small area of the concrete is damaged. This is to ensure that everything matches and maintains the original aesthetic you were going for. Luckily though, it is rare to have to repair decorative concrete because it wouldn’t be used for a high risk area such as a loading dock. Rather, you’ll find decorative concrete used in areas like entry ways, around pools, or sidewalks that are less likely to be damaged from large machinery.
